Chains
Most bikes want the chain to match the pitch and width of its chainring and cog teeth.
A shifting chain made for 6-speeds usually won't fit an 8-speed cassette.
Track chains with 1/2"-pitch x 1/8"-width can often fit the same pitch x 3/32"-width teeth,
but not the other way round.
