April 24

It was a super special day at Kissena's Grand Reopening. It's hard to digest, so much happened, all our dreams came true. Spectators enjoyed music, free food, water bottles, porta-potties, extra seats, a raffle for a Bianchi Concept track bike, and enough Red Bull for an army. Thanks to sponsors Radical Media, Animal New York, NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, Puma, Tylenol, Phoneix Sports Technologies, One Dream Sound, Spin City Cycles, and Red Bull.

Champions Past Present Future

The reigning Olympic sprint gold medalist, winner of 2003 NYC Cycling Championships, Marty Nothstein (Navigators) came to Kissena's Reopening, along with Masters World Champion and record holder Gil Hatton, and young Jack Simes IV, with his father, Jack Simes III, who was here on opening day 1963.

PUMA Messenger Race

The New York Bike Messenger community came out for first races of the TEAM PUMA Kissena Series 2004.
