Schwinn Paramount track bicycle (c.1939-Chicago-#A194)
frame by Emil Watsyn, repaired by Hill Cycle Shop,
all chrome except seat stays, Schwinn parts include adjustable stem (with Drysdale clamp)
headset, bottom bracket and cottered crank, 24 x 8-tooth inch-pitch chaindrive.
This bike is not in original condition since the frame was mended.
My goal is to make it "period correct."
Above is the seat stay repair, with Hill Cycle Shop stamp.
Below, the Cinelli stem and bars it came with, that are "period incorrect."
Here's the proper Schwinn adjustable stem with a replacement clamp made by Al Drysdale.
How logical that the stem, like the frame, has been altered.

Next are the 36-hole "telephone dial" hubs. Front is laced to Nisi-Evian Corso rim.
This rear wheel, like the frame and stem, has a history in its late-1970s Fiamme red label rim.
Then there's Schwinn's cranks and chainrings. My question is: are they Paramount or Superior?
